In Steve Almond’s latest book, (Not that You Asked), Almond shares his rants, exploits, and obsessions about everything from why he hates Oprah’s Book Club to why he loves Vonnegut to what he thinks about being a first-time dad (whether you asked for it or not). Now, we are asking you for your own rants, exploits, and obsessions!

We are looking for the best rants on the Internet, and we’re pretty sure you have a rant worthy of being heard. To enter the (Not that You Asked) Best Rant Contest, complete the following steps:

 Step 1:
Read the Contest Official Rules.

 Step 2:
Write your best rant (no more than 500 words).

 Step 3:
Post your rant on your blog or personal website with a link back to this page. If you would like to use our banner, please use the following code:

 Step 4:
Email notthatyouasked@gmail.com with the required contact information (full name, address, email, and birthdate) and the link to your rant.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE AS OF AUGUST 17, 2007, TO ENTER AND WIN!

The Prizes:

One Grand Prize Winner will receive a signed copy of (Not that You Asked) by Steve Almond and a CD including excerpts of the book read by Steve Almond. 

One Second Place Winner will receive a signed copy of (Not that You Asked) by Steve Almond.

One Third Place Winner will receive a CD including excerpts of (Not that You Asked) read by Steve Almond. 

All entries must be received by 11:59 P.M. EDT on August 17, 2007. Winners will be notified on or about September 7, 2007.  Employees of Random House, Inc.
